Professional Experience

Dawn joined McDonough Holland & Allen’s Construction practice group in 2003. Dawn's practice specializes in construction-related transactions and contract disputes. She represents contractors, subcontractors, public and private owners and material suppliers in drafting and negotiating contract documents, and providing litigation and counseling services in all aspects of construction law.

Dawn brings to MHA extensive business experience, having worked for ten years in several major San Francisco Bay area companies before beginning her legal education. Prior to joining MHA, she was a summer associate in the Business & Technology group at a national law firm, where she did transactional work for emerging companies.

Representative Matters

Representing general contractor in multiple-party consolidated lawsuit with more than $2 million in claims in dispute, arising out of hotel construction project

Special counsel to Sutter Health, a major Northern California healthcare organization, providing litigation and transactional services in connection with their $5.5 billion design and construction program

Drafting contract documents on behalf of Native American Tribe owner’s representative for multi-million dollar housing development project

Represented owner/developer in drafting and negotiating construction contract documents for a series of commercial projects totaling more than $10 million

Represented owner/developer in drafting agreement with general contractor for multi-million dollar Communities Facilities Acquisition District (CFD) infrastructure construction project.
