McDonough's 2006 Holiday Giving ProgramMcDonough Holland & Allen's attorneys annually contribute their time and hundreds of thousands of dollars to more than fifty charitable, civic and trade organizations throughout Northern California. This spirit of community giving heightens each holiday season when the firm provides financial donations to three worthy charities. With hopes of spreading holiday cheer to local families and youth in need, MHA's 2006 Holiday Giving Program will benefit: The National Center for Youth Law, Bids for Kids, and WIND Youth Services. National Center for Youth Law The National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) uses the law to improve the lives of children. NCYL works to ensure that low-income children have the resources, support, and opportunities they need for a healthy and productive future. Much of NCYL's work is focused on children who are additionally challenged by abuse and neglect, disability, or other disadvantages. Bids for Kids The Rotary Club of Sacramento has a long and distinguished history of community service. For more than 90 years, the Club has been a source of financial and physical support for numerous charitable institutions in this community. Since 1985, the Club's largest fund raising event each year, Bids For Kids, is dedicated to providing funds for worthy children's causes in the Sacramento area. Bids For Kids has raised and donated over $1 million in the past 12 years. WIND Youth Services WIND Youth Services is a local nonprofit that was established in 1994 to directly address the immediate and long-range needs of the Sacramento area homeless, runaway, and street youth and their families. They began their work in response to the increasing number of homeless youth that were not being served by other agencies.
