McDonough Holland & Allen Expands Public Law Practice;
Adds Two Attorneys In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Sept. 18, 2008 – McDonough Holland & Allen PC, a leading Northern California law firm representing both private and public sector clients, welcomes two attorneys to its nearly 40-attorney Public Law Practice Group. Joining in Sacramento, Erinn M. Lopez is a senior attorney and Jennifer S. McGeorge is an associate. Both bring significant experience from city agencies, as well as law firms.

“We have one of the more comprehensive—if not THE most comprehensive—Public Law Practice Groups in California, and we have the privilege of representing cities, counties and municipal agencies across the state,” said Edward J. Quinn Jr., McDonough’s managing shareholder. “Thanks to stellar group leadership and dedicated lawyers with deep passion for public-side work, this practice area continues to strengthen and grow, and we are thrilled to bring on Erinn and Jennifer.”

Lopez practiced for several years as a senior attorney for the Redevelopment Agency of the City and County of San Francisco, where she participated in high-profile and complex real estate transactions. She represented the agency in the development of San Francisco’s Bloomingdale’s store in Union Square, including drafting transactional documents and facilitating the deal’s closure. Lopez also served as the agency’s lead counsel on the Hunters Point Shipyard, Mission Bay and other key City redevelopment transactions. Lopez began her legal career as an associate at Morrison & Foerster. She earned her J.D. from the University of California, Boalt Hall School of Law (1997) and both her M.A. in sociology and B.A. in psychology from Stanford University (1992).

McGeorge joins from the Sacramento City Attorney’s Office, where she served as a Deputy City Attorney prosecuting criminal violations of the Sacramento City Code in addition to handling various civil matters, including receiverships, public nuisance abatements, oppositions to Pitchess motions and a variety of administrative hearings. She also provided advice on municipal matters to many city departments, including the departments of Police, Fire, Housing and Dangerous Buildings, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Code Enforcement, and Animal Care Services. Prior to her time at the Sacramento City Attorney’s office, McGeorge gained valuable experience as a labor and employment law attorney at Cook Brown, LLP in Sacramento. She earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (2002) and her B.A. in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles (1999).
